Netflix’s “The Harder They Fall,” from debut filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, bringing awards buzz for the movie and its actors, most notably Idris Elba and Oscar-winner Regina King. Rapper and music executive Jay-Z serves as one of the film’s producers and songwriters of the 16-song soundtrack, which will surely be in the Oscar race for original song. This could bring a scenario in which his wife Beyonc¨¦, a writer and performer on the song “Be Alive” from Will Smith’s film “King Richard,” could compete against her husband for the Academy Award. This would be a first in history and a scenario that could catapult ratings for the show if both are nominated.
Pepsi, the NFL, and Roc Nation have announced the performers for the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, including Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Snoop Dogg. This is the first time these five musicians will perform together, which is set to take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022.
