After writing and directing the first three installments of the groundbreaking, mind-bending “Matrix” trilogy with her sister Lilly, Wachowski continued solo for “The Matrix Resurrections,” out in December 2021, which brings back Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett-Smith in their prior roles alongside newcomer Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Candyman”). Debuting with the erotically charged crime-thriller “Bound” in 1996, the Wachowskis went on to helm bombastic films like “V for Vendetta” and “Cloud Atlas” before globe-trotting series “Sense8” for Netflix, which premiered in 2015 as one of its earliest originals before Wachowski split professionally from her sister, who decided to depart the show after its first season.
